Squire Ultra is the go to Clover safe grassland herbicide since the loss of Clover Max. In grassland where Clover is desired, Squire Ultra is the product of choice for Dock weed and other broad leaved weed control. Provides useful control of other competitive weeds such as cleavers, charlock and chickweed. There is some limited evidence that Amidosulfuron may provide some incidental control of bracken.
Squire Ultra also has EAMUs for ornamental plant production that could be used to provide useful control of Cleavers. Pytotoxicity should be tested before large-scale use.
Key Points:
- An important Clover safe product with the loss of Clover Max and Clover Master.
- Effective against both curled and broad leaf Docks, both are weeds capable of significantly reducing grass growth and yield.
- No LERAP rating making it useful for weed control along watercourses.
- Grazing animals must be kept out of treated areas for 7 days following treatment.
- It is important to avoid spraying Docks while they are too small. First true leaves should be fully unfurled providing a larger uptake surface.
- Can be applied by either boom or knapsack sprayer.
Can be used from 1st February to the 15th October in permanent grassland. On rotational grassland from the 1st February to the 30th June.
Application rate:
Boom spray rate: 60g/Ha in 200 – 400L of water
Knapsack: 3g in 10L of water covers 500m2
